National School of Drama invites applications from the interested candidates for admission into its 3-year diploma course in Dramatic Arts. Selection process will comprise of two stages- preliminary test and final round, qualifying both of which will be mandatory for admission. The application forms will be made available in both online and offline mode tentatively from the month of March 2022. Candidates who wish to get enrolled into the school must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission. NSD Admission 2022 Main Highlights

• Preliminary test at different centers will be conducted on different dates as specified by the school.
• Candidates must show on demand 3 recommendations from theatre experts and documentary proof of the theatre experience.

Eligibility Criteria NSD Admission 2022

Check below the minimum eligibility criteria required for admission into National School of Drama:

• Nationality: Candidates of both and foreign nationality are eligible for admissions.
• Age limit: The minimum and maximum age of the candidates as on 1^st July 2022 should be 18 and 30 years respectively. Relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age will be given to the SC/ ST candidates.
• Educational qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university is required.
• Experience: Participation in at least 6 theatre productions is compulsory.
• Physical fitness: The students selected for admission will be required to undergo a medical test for physical fitness at NSD Delhi.
• Others: Working knowledge of Hindi/ English is also mandatory.

Application Form

The candidates will be able to fill and submit their NSD admission application form in online as well as offline mode, as per their convenience.

Online application:

The online application form for NSD Admission 2022 will be released on the official website of NSD www.onlineadmission.nsd.gov.in. The application form can be filled by providing the basic personal and educational details of the candidates. Scanned copies of photograph, signature and other important documents will also be uploaded in the application. After providing all the details, the candidates can submit the form online along with the application fee of Rs. 50/-. Payment of the application fee will also be done online using debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Offline application:

Request for offline application form can be made by the candidates in writing to The Dean, Academic, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi – 110001. Along with the request, a demand draft of Rs. 225/- including the postal charges drawn in favor of The Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi also needs to be submitted. The written request and demand draft should be sent so as to reach the school before the last specified date. Testimonials, copies of certificates and two recent passport size photographs, should also be attached with the application. Application of foreign students

Candidates of foreign nationality who wish to get enrolled in NSD will have to submit their applications through the Indian Embassy/ High Commission in their respective countries, who will forward their application to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in India. The school will then consider the application recommended by the ICCR.

Selection Process

• The selection process will comprise of a preliminary test followed by a final round.
• The preliminary screening may comprise of an audition or practical test to assess the basic skills of the candidates.
• Candidates shortlisted by the Preliminary Selection Committee will have to appear for the final round of selection.
• Second and final round will be a 4-5 days of workshop where the emphasis will be laid on candidate’s attitude towards learning and participating in collective creation.
• Final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the second round.

Accommodation

Candidates who are selected for the final round will be provided TA/ DA (both sides) from their hometown to the place of interview, by the shortest route, after they provide 3 tier train or bus tickets, receipts, etc. Accommodation to the students will be given in the school hostel itself.

Center for test

• Preliminary test: The preliminary test is supposed to be conducted at the following centers: Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mumbai and Bhopal
• Final test: The final round will be conducted only at NSD, Delhi.
