SSC JE 2024: Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria
SSC will be conducting an open competitive exam to select the candidates as Junior Engineers in different departments. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible for appointment to different posts depending on their choice and vacancy available. The candidates will be able to apply for the exam in online mode. It is expected that the application form may release in August 2024 and the exam will be conducted in November 2024. Keep in Mind
- Applications will be accepted only in online mode.
- Candidates should apply only for such posts for which they fulfill the eligibility criteria.
- Answer key will also be released on the official website and the candidates can submit their grievance at Rs. 100/- per question.
- No changes will be possible after the final submission of the application form.
- Although it is not mandatory, the candidates are advised to give their Aadhaar number in the application form.
- A certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India is necessary for all candidates other than those who are citizen of India.
- Appointed candidates will be on probation for two years and during this period they might need to undergo such training or pass such exam as prescribed by the Controlling Authority.

- General Awareness: Current Affairs, India and its neighbouring countries- their Geography, History, Economic Scene, General Polity Culture, and Scientific Research, etc

- Civil Engineering: Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Building Materials, Hydraulics, Estimating, Costing and Valuation and Transportation, Environmental & Irrigation Engineering

SSC JE Application Form 2024
SSC JE 2024 application form might release in August 2024. The form will be released online and the candidates can obtain it from the official website ssconline.nic.in.
- In the application form, the candidates will have to provide their personal details such as name, father’s name, age, gender, category, etc.
- Details of the qualifying exam such as marks obtained, passing year, university name, etc will also be asked.
- Preference for post and choice for exam center should be provided by the candidates into their application.
- Scanned copies of candidates’ photograph and signature will also be uploaded into the application form.
- Once all the details are submitted carefully into the application form, the candidates can submit it online.
- A prescribed amount of application fee will also have to be paid along with the application form.
- After successful submission of the form, its printout should be taken and kept safe by the candidates.
Application fee:
- The application fee for SSC JE exam will be Rs. 100/-.
- SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-servicemen and women candidates will be exempted from application fee payment.
- Payment of fee can be done via SBI Challan/ net banking or any credit card/ debit card.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria required for SSC JE exam 2024:
Nationality | Citizen of India, Subject of Bhutan or Nepal
Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam who came to India for settling permanently |

* Only male candidates are eligible for the posts of Junior Engineers in Director General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Ministry of Defence.

Admit Card
- The schedule and venue of the exam will be communicated to the candidates through their admit card.
- Admit card is an important and entry into the examination hall without a valid admit card will not be permitted.
- Candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website of concerned regional/ sub regional office(s) of the commission.
- A printout of admit card, a valid photo identity card and 3 passport size photographs must be carried by the candidates while reporting for exam.
- In case of non-availability or any discrepancy in the admit card, candidate should immediately contact concerned regional/ sub regional office(s) of the commission.
Selection Process
- Candidates will be selected for recruitment on the basis of their performance in both the papers.
- Those who are declared as qualified in the SSC JE exam result will be considered for selection process.
- The applicants will be able to check their result of paper 1 and 2 from the official website of SSC.
- Applicants shortlisted on the basis of the exam will be called for document verification process.
- The candidates must carry all their documents in original at the time of verification failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
- After completion of the verification process, the candidates will be selected finally.
