SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants, who want to apply for SSC CGL exam, must check the eligibility criteria to ensure their educational and age requirements as specified by the examination conducting authority i.e. Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria– Age requirements

Age required for SSC CGL – As on August 2022 (tentative)

Date of Birth recorded in the 10th/ Secondary Examination Certificate only will be accepted by the Commission for deciding the age.

Age criteria:

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 32 years

Relaxation in age

There will be relaxation given in upper age limit for certain category. The permitted relaxation of upper age as per category is mentioned below

For Group B posts Central Government Civilian Employees (General /Unreserved) who have provided at least 3 years regular and continuous service as on last date for receiving of application 5 years
Central Government Civilian Employees(OBC) who have provided at least 3 years regular and continuous service as on last date for the receiving of application form 8 (5 +3) years
Central Government Civilian Employees(SC/ST category) who have provided at least 3 years regular and continuous service as on last date for the receiving of application form 10(5+5) years
For Group C posts Central Government Civilian Employees(General/Unreserved) who have provided at least 3 years regular and permanent service as on last date for the receiving of application form Up to 40 years of age
Central Government Civilian Employees(OBC)) who have provided at least 3 years regular and permanent service as on the last date for receiving of application Up to 43 years of age
Central Government Civilian Employees(SC/ST) who have provided at least 3 years regular and permanent service as on last date for receiving of application Up to 45 years of age
Applicants who had generally been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir state(Unreserved/open category) 5 years

For Group “C” posts only. Divorced Women/ Widows/Women judicially separated and who are not married again (Unreserved / General) Up to 35 years of age
Divorced Women/Women judicially separated/ Widows and who are not married again (OBC) Up to 38 years of age
Divorced Women/Women judicially separated/ Widows and who are not married again (SC/ST) Up to 40 years of age
Defense Personnel who are disabled in operation during warfare with any other country or in a troubled area and released as a result thereof. (Open/ Unreserved) 5 years
Defense Personnel who are disabled in operation during warfare with any other country or in a troubled area and released as a result thereof. ( OBC) 8 (5+3) years

For the post of Assistant Audit Officer:

Required qualifications: Candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute

Desirable qualifications: Qualification like Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Economics or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Chartered Accountant or Company Secretary or cost & Management Accountant will be considered as added benefits for candidates.

For the post of Statistical Investigator Grade – II

Candidate should have done Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with obtaining no less than 60% in Mathematics at 12th examination or completed Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the major subjects at degree level

For the post of Compiler:

Applicants should have done Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Mathematics or Statistics as mandatory or Elective subject

All other Posts:

Candidates should have done Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. For the posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test is considered as an Essential Qualification.
