LIC AAO 2022: Syllabus, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Eligibility Criteria
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will soon be inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment to the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist/ IT/ Chartered Accountant/ Actuarial/ Rajbhasha). Interested candidates can apply for LIC AAO 2022 by filling the online form. The application form will be released in the 1st week of March 2022. Applicants need to make sure that they fulfil the eligibility conditions laid down by the authority. The LIC AAO 2022 exam will be a computer-based test. It will be conducted on two phases- preliminary and main exam followed by the interview round. Applicants will get a total of 1 hour for pre-exam and 2 hours 30 minutes for the main exam.

LIC AAO 2022 Key Points
- No other mode of application will be considered by the authority for submission. Only online applications will be treated as a valid one.
- Candidates can apply for only one post. Applications for more than one post will be counted as invalid.
- Candidates selected as AAO will be on a probation period of one year at least which can be extended to two years.
- Candidates under no circumstances should share their registration id and password with anyone.
- The marks scored in English subject will not be considered for ranking.
- Preliminary exam will only be of qualifying in nature. Candidates need to score minimum cut-off marks to crack pre-exam.
- To pass the exam, applicants need to qualify both the sectional and overall cut-off score decided by the authority.
- Marks obtained in the main examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and marks obtained in main examination + marks obtained in Interview will be considered for final merit listing of candidates.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates need to go through the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for LIC AAO 2022 examination-
Age criteria: Minimum age of the candidates must be at least 21 years as on 1st March 2022. Maximum age of the candidates must not be over 30 years old as on 1st March 2022. Candidates from reserved category can claim relaxation in age as per the rules.
Educational qualification
AAO (Generalist) | A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university is required |
AAO (IT) | Candidates must possess a degree in computer science, IT or electronics or have done MCA from a recognised university. |
AAO (Chartered Accounted) | Candidates should have done graduation in any discipline and have passed final examination of chartered accountants of India. He/she should also be an associate member of the same. |
AAO (Actuarial) | Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. They must have passed paper CT1 and CT5 plus 4 or more papers of the exam conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India/Institute and faculties of Actuaries, UK. |
AAO (Rajbhasha) | A post graduate degree in Hindi/English/Sanskrit is required. |
LIC AAO Application form 2022
Candidates need to fill the online application form for LIC AAO 2022 by registering on the official website. They also need to upload their scanned photograph and signature while filling the form. The form will ask for details such as- name, gender, category, religion, educational details among others. These details are to be filled very carefully as no correction window will be provided to them once the form is submitted successfully.
Candidates with incorrect details will be disqualified from taking the exam. It is mandatory for them to pay the necessary application fee for the exam failing which their application will be rejected. The form must be submitted on time to avoid disappointment. Applicants need not send the hardcopy of the application form to the authority.
Application fee
Applicants need to pay Rs. 600/- towards the application fee for LIC AAO exam. SC/ST/PWBD candidates are required to pay Rs. 100/- for the same. Payment of the fee can be done online using credit card, debit card and net banking.
Exam pattern

LIC AAO Syllabus
The syllabus of LIC AAO exam comprises of-
- Computer knowledge: MS word and excel, Input-output devices, DBMS, internet, history of computers, keyboard shortcuts, networking, etc.
- English: Error spotting, phrases and idioms, reading comprehension, sentence rearrangement, synonym, antonym, etc.
- GK and current affairs: National and international affairs, headquarters, countries and currencies, awards and honours, static GK, current affairs, environment, etc.
- Reasoning: Direction sense, ranking, analogy, classification, blood relation, coding-decoding, Venn diagram, direction test, puzzle etc.
- Quantitative aptitude: Simplification, time and work, speed, distance and time, average, number system, profit and loss, simple interest, mixture and allegations, data interpretation, etc.

Admit card
Candidates can download the admit card of LIC AAO 2022 exam from the official website of LIC.
They must carry the printed copy of the call letter to the exam hall along with a valid ID proof.
Candidates who do not possess the same shall not be allowed to appear in the exam.
Separate call letters will be generated for pre-exam, main exam and interview.
Any discrepancy in the call letter must be communicated to the authorities on time.
Result and selection
Candidates can check their result by logging into the web portal of LIC.
Those who qualify preliminary exam will be eligible for appearing in main exam.
Selection of the candidates will depend on their performance in main exam and interview round.
Candidates selected will provisionally be allotted into the service and will be on probation for a year at LIC.
