SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2024: State Bank of India is one of the largest banks in India and it conducts the examination to recruit the eligible candidates for the posts of clerk for its various branches all across the nation. SBI recruitment authority has set an exam pattern having two stages of the selection process viz., preliminary and mains. Candidates will be required to take part in both the stages of the examination and qualify them to be posted as a clerk in the bank.
In this post, candidates have been given all the details about the SBI Clerk Exam Pattern. The SBI Clerk exam pattern will be comprised of Preliminary and Mains Examination which will have questions of objective nature. Both the stages of the examination will be conducted through the online mode. The details will be the number of questions, time duration and the subjects from which questions will be asked.
(Stage-1) SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam
- SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam will be conducted online.
- The exam will be based on the question paper having multiple choice questions.
- The number of questions in the exam will be 100.
- The questions asked in the exam will be from English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.
- There will be negative marking for the wrong answer i.e., candidates’ 1/4th marks will be deducted as penalty for the incorrect responses.

Marking Scheme for SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam
- The Total Marks allotted for the SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination will be 100.
- Candidates will be given 1 mark for every correct answer.
- For every incorrect answer, candidates’ 1/4th marks will be deducted.
(Stage-2) SBI Clerk Mains Exam
- The SBI Clerk main exam will consist of 190 questions.
- The questions will be of objective nature.
- There will be 5 sections in the exam which will be of English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness.
- The time duration to solve the online test will be of 2 hours 40 minutes.
- The language of the question paper will be English and Hindi (except English section).
- There will be negative marking of 0.25% marks for the wrong answers in the Objective tests.

Marking Scheme for SBI Clerk Mains Exam
- The Total Marks allotted for the SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination will be 200.
- Candidates will be given 1 mark for every correct answer.
- For every incorrect answer, candidates’ 1/4th marks will be deducted.
(Stage-3) Interview (subject to Govt. of India approval)
- Candidates, who have qualified the SBI Clerk Pre and Main Exam, will be required to take part in the interview but it will be subject to Government of India approval.
- If the interview is conducted, it will be necessary for the candidates to secure minimum qualifying marks to be eligible to take part in the interview.
- After the commencement of interview, candidates will be finally selected for the post of clerk in the State Bank of India.
