UGC NET Application Form: Last Date, How to Fill, Application Fee
For the May session, the UGC NET Application will release in the month of February. NTA will conduct the UGC NET examination. It is a national-level exam. UGC NET Application Form – Highlights
Some important highlights and details related to the UGC NET Application Form are as follows.
- NTA will release the UGC NET application form in online mode only. For may session, the application form will release in February.
- The last date to submit the application form will be in March.
- Aspirants can pay the application fee in online mode only.
- Candidates should fill the application form and pay the application fee well before the last to avoid the last-minute rush.
- Authorities will not accept any application form after the last date.
How to fill UGC NET application form?
Given below are the steps to fill UGC NET application form.
1st Step – Registration
- First of all, visit the official website of NTA
- Click on the “New Registration” link.
- Read the declaration carefully and click on the “proceed to apply” button appearing at the bottom.
- After that, you need to enter the required details – State of Residence, Identification type, Aadhar Number, Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security pin.
- Click on the “Submit” button after filling in the information.
2nd Step – Fill the application form
In the main application form, candidates have to enter the following details.
- Personal Details – Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Category, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number, Aadhaar Number
- Educational Details – Applied For, Subject opted for NET, choose 4 examination cities as per preference.
- Candidates Mail Address – Address including locality, city, town, state, pin code.
- Educational Qualification Details – Post graduate examination, examination appearing/passed, subjects of postgraduate examination, post-graduation from which institute, state & name of the university, passing year, whether M.Phil. passed or whether PHD passed.
- Click on the “Submit” button once you are entering this information.
- Review all the information added in the application form carefully.
- Check the box to accept the declaration.
- Finally, Click on the “Submit” button.
- After that, the system will show the application number and password that will be used for future sign-in.
3rd Step – Uploading the necessary documents.
- After entering the details in the application form, candidates have to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature.
- Both photograph and signature of the candidate should be in JPEG/ JPG format.
- The size of the photograph must be between 4kb and 50 kb.
- Dimensions of the photograph should be 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm.
- The size of the signature must be between 4kb and 30 kb.
- Dimensions of the signature should be 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm
- The preview of the photograph and signature will display on your screen once you upload them.
- Finally, click on the “Final Upload” button after checking the image preview.
4th Step – Application Fee Payment
- This the final step of the UGC NET application form submission.
- A candidate can pay the application fee in online mode only.
- At the time of application fee payment, you need to choose the pay provider i.e. bank through you want to pay the fees.
- A candidate can pay the application fee online using a debit card/ credit card/net banking or Paytm.
- The application fee is non-refundable.
- Application fees for the candidates of various categories are as follows.

5th Step – Print Confirmation Page
- After submitting the application form, candidates should take a printout of the confirmation page.
- You need to click on the “Print Confirmation Page” option to take a printout of the confirmation page.
Important Points to Remember
- Please go through the procedure of filling the form carefully. In case of incorrect details, the authority will reject the form.
- It is compulsory for all candidates to fill the application form in online mode only. No other mode of application form submission is allowed.
