The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by the National Law University to select the candidates for admission into BA LLB, LLM and PhD courses. Interested candidates who also fulfill the eligibility for the particular programme can fill and submit their application form. Major Highlights of AILET 2024
- Process of application will be completely online from filling the form to payment of application fee.
- Candidates of foreign nationality will be exempted from appearing in AILET 2024. Admission to such candidates will be given direct on the basis of merit.
- Sample paper of AILET can be obtained by the candidates by submitting Rs. 500/- by credit card/ debit card or through post by sending a demand draft of Rs. 550/- in favor of Registrar, National Law University along with a covering letter with an address for delivery.
- Candidates should preserve their admit card until the whole process of admission is completely over.
- Reservation to the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD candidates will be given as applicable.

AILET 2024 Exam Pattern
The overview of AILET 2024 exam pattern is given below as:
- Duration of exam: 90 minutes
- Medium of exam: English
- Type of questions: Objective type
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for each right answer
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer

AILET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the candidates applying for AILET 2024:
Nationality:
- Candidates of Indian nationality, PIO and OCI candidates are eligibility to apply for AILET.
Educational qualification:
- For BA LLB (Hons.): The candidates should have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Those appearing in their 12th board exam in the year 2020 are eligible too.
- For LLM: Applicants with LLB or an equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category) can apply for the entrance exam. The candidates appearing in final year of LLB exam in April/ May 2020 can also apply.
- For PhD: LLM degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates) is required to be eligible.
AILET 2024 Application Form
The candidates will be able to fill their application form by visiting the official website. The application form may release in September 2023 and can be filled only through online mode.
- To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal details such as name, category, gender, date of birth, etc.
- Details of the qualifying exam such as board/ university name, passing year, marks obtained, etc will also be asked in the application form.
- Applicants will also have to upload the scanned copies of their photograph and signature in the application form.
- Candidates of SC/ ST/ PWD category who seek relaxation in application fee should also upload their category/ disability certificate.
- Once all the information is entered carefully into the application form, the candidates can submit the form online.
- A hard copy of the filled-in application form should be taken and kept by the candidates for future reference.
- There is no need to send the hard copy of the application form or any other document to the NLU.
Application fee:
- To complete the application process, the candidates will also have to make submission of required amount of application fee.
- The application fee will be Rs. 3050/- for general candidates and Rs. 1050/- for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.
- Below Poverty Line (BPL) candidates belonging to SC/ ST category will be exempted from the payment of application fee.
- Payment of application fee can be done online via debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
Admit Card
- The admit cards will be released as per the given schedule in online mode on the official website.
- Candidates will be able to download the admit card using their application number, date of birth/ password, etc.
- After downloading, the candidates should take a printout of the admit card to be carried to exam center.
- Those who fail to carry admit card to the exam center will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
- Details of the exam, center and timing, will be communicated to the candidates through the admit card.
Result & Admission
- The result of the entrance exam will be announced in the month of May for BA LLB course and in July 2023 for LLM and PhD courses.
- Applicants will be able to check their result from the official website of the university.
- Score card of the qualified candidates will also be made available on the official website.
- An admission list of the successful candidates will also be released.
- Candidates whose names appear in this list will have to pay the admission fee and complete the rest formalities of admission.
- After the last date of admission is over, the finally selected candidates will have to take part in the interview round.
