Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for Air Force Group X & Y 2024 are as follows.
Age Limit
- The age of a candidate should be between 17 years and 21 years.
Educational Qualification
Group ‘X’ (Except Education Instructor Trade)
- Aspirants should have Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Candidates with a three-year diploma in Engineering in any stream are also eligible.
Group ‘Y’ (Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades)
- Candidates should have passed the Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/ subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Aspirants with a two-year vocational course with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English are also eligible.
Application Form
It is compulsory for candidates to fill out and submit the application form before the last date. The process for submitting the IAF Group X/ Y application form is explained below.
- First of all, you need to go to the official Indian Air Force website.
- Next, navigate to the Career section.
- Register on the official website by filling in your basic details such as name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number.
- After registration, you must sign in using the login credentials provided during registration.
- After logging in, locate the application form for Group X & Y.
- Fill in all the required details such as personal information, educational qualifications, and contact information accurately.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and any other required documents as specified in the application form.
- Pay the necessary application fee as per your category.
- Finally, submit the application form and take a printout of the same for future reference.
Application Fee
- The application fee for all candidates is Rs. 250/-
Mode of payment
- Candidates can pay the fees using Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/Internet Banking through a payment gateway. The examination fee can also be paid by Challan payment at any Axis Bank Branch.
Admit Card
- Once the application form submission process gets over, IAF will release admit cards for eligible candidates.
- To download the IAF Group X & Y Exam Admit Card, candidates need to visit the official website of the Indian Air Force. They will be required to enter their login credentials including their registration number and password.
- The admit card contains important information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam centre, and exam date.
- No candidate will be allowed to take the exam without an admit card.

Result
- IAF will publish the result soon after the examination.
- To check the result, aspirants will have to log into the portal.
- The result card will carry information about the subject-wise and total marks secured by the candidate.
- Those who will score more than Group X & Y Cut off marks will be invited to take part in the next round of selection.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Those candidates who will clear the written test will be called to take part in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
- The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) would consist of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.
