Eligibility Criteria for Assam B.Tech, M.Tech, MS Admission 2022

Admission process

  • Candidates will be required to take part in the CEE counselling to be eligible to take admission in the B.Tech. programme. The notification in this regarding will be updated by the Director of Technical Education, Assam.
  • Candidates can apply for admission only after they have taken part in the counselling.
  • Those applicants, who wish to apply for admission in the second year of theB.Tech. programme through the Lateral entry will be required to appear in the entrance test which is usually conducted in the month of July 2022.
  • For admission into the M. Tech. and M.S. programmes, candidates need to fill up and submit the online application form through the Gauhati University’s website.

Norms for admission into the Masters Programmes

The Gauhati University (GU) has set the rule for the distribution of seats for Masters Programmes. As per the GU’s admission pattern for the master’s programmes

  • 80% of the total seats available for the master’s programme will be filled by the GU graduates.
  • 20% of the remaining seats will be filled up from graduates of other universities.

Details of the Fee

  • Candidates, who want to take admission in the GU, will have to deposit Counselling Fee of Rs. 1000 to proceed further for admission.
  • Candidates seeking admission in the second year of the B.Techprogramme through lateral entry need to pay the Fee of Rs. 300 as entrance fee for B.Tech(Lateral).
  • Candidates can pay the entrance fee through the Demand Draft which must be in favour of the Registrar, Gauhati University and payable at Guwahati.

Documents to be attached to application form

While filling the online application/admission form, candidates must have the following documents/certificates ready as they will be required to be attached with the application form. The points show the list of all the essential documents:

  • Admit card of CEE (for B.Tech. only)
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (for B.Tech.)
  • HSLC pass certificate/Admit Card as proof of age
  • Higher Secondary pass certificate / Mark sheet of HSLC examination / Mark sheet of Higher Secondary examination
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC
  • Certificate of Diploma exam for B.Tech. Lateral Entry
  • Mark sheet and certificate of the respective qualifying exam for M.S. and M.Tech. admission.
