Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates seeking admission to Gauhati University MBA programme must fulfill the necessary eligibility conditions before applying for the entrance test. The eligibility criteria for Gauhati University MBA courses are as following.

• Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree of 10+2+3 pattern with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or in Major subject (if any) from the Gauhati University or any other recognized University.
• Applicants appearing in the final year of the Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent examination are also eligible to apply provided they have to produce the passing certificate for the qualifying exam as per the specified date

Gauhati University MBA Admission 2022 Application Form: How to apply?

Aspirants can obtain the application forms along with information booklet from the Publication Department, Gauhati University. It is expected that the application form will be available from July 2022 to August 2022 on payment of Rs.400/-through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Registrar, Gauhati University payable at Guwahati or in person at Gauhati University cash counter. In addition, application form can also be downloaded from the GU official website at www.gauhati.ac.in. However while submitting the downloaded application form, candidate should pay Rs. 400/- through demand draft or in cash at Gauhati University cash counter.

Apart from this, candidates have to submit a Demand Draft of Rs 350/-(Three Hundred fifty only) favoring Registrar, Gauhati University as the mandatory exam fee for the MBA Entrance Test. The exam fee should be deposited in the Department of Economics, G.U. during the submission of Application form. Application form sent through post must be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs. 350/- favouring Registrar, Gauhati University payable at Guwahati as well as the application form fee of Rs. 400/- by Demand Draft. Applicants should note that, duly filled application form accompanied by all required documents should reach the Head of the Department of Economics, Gauhati University on or before the due date.

Selection Process

Candidates have to appear in the written entrance test. The university organizes the test in order to check candidate’s quantitative aptitude, general awareness, data interpretation, and English language skills.  Those who successfully qualify the written exam will be further called for Group Discussion and Interview round.  The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their overall performance in the written test, group discussion and personal interview.

Candidates who have cleared any one of the All India Common Entrance Test such as MAT, CAT, ATMA, or XAT are exempted from appearing in the written entrance test organized by Gauhati University.
