GSET 2022 – Application Form, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria

One of the state universities in Gujarat will conduct the GSET 2022 exam. Last year, this exam was organized by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara as a State Agency for the Gujarat State. GSET stands for Gujarat State Eligibility Test. The aim of this exam is to determine the eligibility of Gujarat state’s candidates for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State in 23 subjects.

GSET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates must ensure that they meet the following eligibility criteria in order to apply.

Educational Qualification

  • Those candidates who have completed/ pursing in the final year or semester of a UGC specified Master’s degree.
  • UGC NET/ UGC CSIR qualified candidates are also eligible.
  • General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Sciences, Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications are eligible.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit applying in GSET for eligibility of Assistant Professor.

Exemption from GSET

  • Exemption from GSET will be as per decisions taken by the UGC and the Government of Gujarat from time to time.

GSET Application Form 2022

All interested and eligible candidates who want to apply need to submit the application form online. The complete process of the application form submission is explained below.

  • First of all, you need to visit the official website of the university and register.
  • During registration, you will have to provide a few of your basic details like name, phone number, email address, etc.
  • Once registered, you may signing in by entering the username and password generated during registration.
  • After signing in ,you will be able to access the main application form.
  • In the main application form, aspirants must provide their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  • The details entered in the application form should be accurate. Remember, authorities can reject application forms on the basis of incorrect details.
  • In addition to the details, candidates are also required to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature.
  • In the next step, you will have to pay the required application form.
  • Don’t forget to take a printout of the confirmation page of the application form submitted and keep it safe for future requirements.

Application Fee

  • The application fees are different for candidates from various categories as given below.
    • General / Gen – EWS / SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates – Rs. 900/- + Bank Charges
    • SC / ST / Third gender Candidates – Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges
    • PWD (PH/VH) Candidates – Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges.

Mode of payment – Candidates must pay the application fee online using modes like Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking.

GSET 2022 Result

  • Candidates will be able to check their result online through the official website.
  • To download your result, you will have to enter your registration details.
  • On the result card, information related to marks secured by candidates will be mentioned.
  • The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots) for Eligibility for Assistant Professor shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of GSET.
  • To be considered eligible for Assistant Professor, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together (35% marks for SC, ST, SEBC, PwD, and Third Gender).

Question – 2: What documents do I need to carry at the time of the examination?

Answer: All candidates must have the following documents with them during the examination.

  • Hall Ticket along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the GSET Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
  • A simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
  • Face Mask and Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml).
  • Personal transparent water bottle.
  • Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic.

Question – 3: Do I need to send the hard copy of the application form confirmation page? 

Answer: No, there is no need to send the hard copy of the application form to the Gujarat SET Office. After successful submission and confirmation of the form, candidates should take printout of filled online Application Form on A-4 size paper only.

Question – 4: What do I need to do after clearing the GSET Examination?

Answer: After clearing the GSET 2022 examination. You need to send the following documents to the GSET Office, Vadodara.

  • Print out of the application form
  • Receipt of Fee Payment
  • Examination hall ticket
  • Photo (Xerox) copies of Eligibility and Category related documents, Mark sheets, Certificates, etc.
