HP GNM 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Check below the eligibility requirements or HP GNM 2024 admission:

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have passed class 12^th exam preferably in Science- Chemistry, Physics and Biology and English with 40% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.

Those have passed 10+2 in Commerce/Arts (Biotechnology, Mathematics, Economics, History, Geography, Political Science, Business Studies, Home Science, Accountancy, Sociology,
Philosophy, Psychology) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science
– Vocational stream only, from a recognized board with 40% marks.

Those have passed 10+2 Science or Arts or Health Care Science- vocation stream only organized by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks. SC/ST category will be provided relaxation by 5% marks.

Age Criteria

Candidates’ age should be in between 17 to 35 years (as on 31^st December of the year of admission). SC/ST category will be provided relaxation by 5 years. The selection of candidates would be purely based on merit of candidates in the qualifying exam.

HP GNM 2024 Application Form

HP GNM 2024 application form is likely to be available from September 2024. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as set by the concerned authority should apply in the prescribed format to the Director Medical Education & Research, Block No. 18-B, SDA Complex, Kasumpti, Shimla-9, HP Pin- 171009 (as per address given above) on or before the given deadline. It is required to make payment of application fee through SBI Collect account.

General/OBC category: Rs. 400/-

SC/ST category: Rs. 200/-

Please ensure that you have attached application fee receipt with the application form. No fee will be accepted in terms of demand draft/IPO. Application fee is non-refundable in nature.

All the eligible candidates are directed, if any objections or corrections in the application form that will be entertained by email on or before 3 days after the cutoff date for applying the said course. The Candidates may remain in touch with the departmental website i.e www.hp.gov.in/dmer.

HP GNM 2024 Selection Process

Candidates will be selected for GNM course based on their merit in 10+2 qualifying examination. The Director of Medical Education & Research, HP will prepare a category-wise merit list. The first preference will be provided to candidates in 10+2 Medical stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English). Second preference will be provided to candidates of 10+2 non-medical stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English) and lastly to the 10+2 (Commerce and Arts stream).

However, before final selection candidates will be called for counselling based on their merit in the qualifying exam. Depending upon the availability of seats in the respective category, candidates can fill their choices.

In case of a tie occurs, the inter-se ranking of the candidates will be based on total marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and thereafter in order of merit in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in 10+2 examination. If the tie still exists then candidates older in age would be provided preference.

HP GNM 2024 Counselling Process

HP GNM 2024 counselling schedule will be updated through the newspapers, official website, radio & TV etc. Candidates will be required to attend the counselling along with following documents in original:

• 10+2 qualifying examination certificate
• Matriculation Certificate for Date of Birth
• SC/ST/OBC categories certificate and sub categories certificate i.e. EWS, IRDP, Ex. Serviceman/Ward of Ex-Serviceman
• Children/Grant Children of Freedom Fighter
• Physically handicapped
• Bonafide certificate issued by the Tehsildar
• Latest Character Certificate

The counselling process for HP GNM 2024 is likely to begin from November 2024. Following procedure will be adopted:

• First of all, applications of candidates are scrutinized.
• A stream-wise merit list will be prepared then.
• The committee constituted by the Government for counselling with allot seat to candidates based on their roster/merit/category in the nearby nursing school according to the address provided in the application form.
• Seats in government institutes will be filled first.
• The provisional allotment list will be displayed on the official website. Allotted candidates will be further required to send their option/willingness /unwillingness to undergo the GNM course in the allotted School within two days positively by e-mail to the Director Medical Education & Research, H.P. directorateme@yahoo.in, so that selection letter could be issued to the allotted candidate.
• Finally, selection letters will be uploaded by the concerned authority.
