IBPS PO Exam Pattern: Indian Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the Common Written examination to select the eligible candidates for the post of probationary officers for various banks of India. There will be three stages of the IPBS PO common written exam which will be IBPS PO Preliminary exam, IBPS PO Main exam and IBPS interview. Candidates will be required to qualify all the three stages of the examination to be selected in the banks as a probationary officer.

IBPS PO Preliminary Examination
After the submission of the IBPS application form, candidates will be issued the IBPS admit card which will allow the applicants to take part in the IBPS Common Written Examination. The very first stage of the exam will be the preliminary examination.
- The pre-stage will be based on the objective questions having multiple choices for the answers.
- There will be three sections in the IBPS preliminary exam which will be of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
- There will be 30 questions from the English language section and there will be 35 questions each from the Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
- Every question will be of 1 mark.
- There will be negative marking of 1/4th marks in the exam for the incorrect answers.

IBPS PO Main Examination
- The main exam will be comprised of the objective questions from different sections which will have multiple choices of answers.
- There will be total 200 questions in the exam.
- All the questions in the exam will be from the different sections such as Reasoning, English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with special reference to Banking) and Computer Knowledge.
- Every question will be of 1 mark.
- There will be a penalty of ¼ marks in the exam if candidates give the incorrect answer of any question.

Provision of negative marking
- In both the stages of the examination, there will be a penalty for the incorrect responses.
- If candidates give the wrong answer of any question, 1/4th marks will be deducted as a penalty.
- No marks will be deducted if candidates leave t5he question unsolved.
Interview
Candidates who have qualified the IBPS PO main examination will later be called for an Interview. The interview will be conducted by the Participating banks and will be coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at different centers which candidates will be informed in the interview call letter.
- The total marks for IBPS PO Interview are 100.
- The minimum qualifying marks in the interview must not be less than 40%.
- Candidates, who belong to the reserved category will be required to obtain minimum 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
IBPS PO Exam Cut-off Score
Every applicant will be required to obtain the minimum marks in the each stage of the exam which is said to be the cutoff score. The details are as given below:
- Candidates will be eligible to take part in the next level of the exam only after qualifying the previous exam and to meet the purpose.
- They will be required to achieve the cutoff score which will be set by the exam conducting authority.
- The cut-off marks will be depending on the number of applicants and the number of vacancies available.
