MH CET Law 2022 – Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Syllabus

State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State, Mumbai will release the MH CET Law 2022 application form in the 3rd week of July 2022. MH CET stands for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. The aim of this test is to shortlist eligible candidates for admission to MAH-LL.B.- 3 Yrs. Course and 5-year Integrated Degree Course LL.B. It is an online examination carrying 150 questions to be answered in 2 hours.

MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria 2022

It is the duty of candidates to make sure that they are eligible before submitting the form.

Nationality

  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit for admission into any of the courses. However, there is a case pending in the hon. supreme court of India regarding the case. The decision of the court would be final. In case of age limit is made applicable it will be 30 Yrs. age for open category candidates and 35 Yrs. for SC and ST category candidates from the State of Maharashtra only as of 1st July 2022. For integrated LLB, the age limit will be 20 years (22 years for SC/ ST categories).

Educational Qualification

Three-Year Degree Course (LL.B.-3 Yrs.)

  • Candidates must have completed graduation or post-graduation from any University in Maharashtra or from any other recognized university.
  • Aspirants should have passed the graduation/ post-graduation with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate (that is 45 % marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together ). 40% for SC/ ST candidates and 42% for OBC candidates.

5 Years Integrated LLB

  • Candidates should have passed the complete senior secondary school (10+2) examination or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Please note that aspirants need to pass the qualifying examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for Open, SEBC and EWS category candidates and Outside Maharashtra i.e All India Candidates. 40% marks SC/ ST category candidates. 42% marks for OBC candidates.

Note: Those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam from distance education or correspondence are also eligible.

MH CET Law Application Form 2022

The MH CET Registration Process 2022 will take place in online mode only. Those interested and eligible candidates who want to apply may go through the steps listed below.

  • First of all, candidates need to visit the official website i.e https://cetcell.mahacet.org/
  • On the official website, you should begin the new registration and enter your Name, Phone Number and E-mail ID.
  • After registration, a provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidates should note down these details.
  • Next, you need to sign in by entering the registration number and password generated in the last step.
  • Now, aspirants should fill in all the required details in the application form. A few of the details that you need to enter are Name, Father’s Name, Date of birth, Category, Qualifying exam passed, Name of the institute last attended, marks secured in the qualifying exam, etc.
  • The Name of the applicant or his/her Father/Husband etc. should be spelled correctly in the application similar to the SSC/ HSC/ equivalent Certificates/ Mark sheets. Any change/ alteration found may disqualify the Candidature.
  • In addition to the details, aspirants should upload scanned images of their photographs and signatures. The specification of the same is as follows.
    • Photograph of the candidate – 20 KB to 50 KB (Size), and 200 x 300 (Dimension)
    • Signature of the candidate  (White paper with a black ink pen) – 10 KB to 20 KB (Size), and a minimum of 200 dpi (Dots per Inch).
  • It is also compulsory to pay the application fee while filling the application form.
  •  Finally, aspirants should take a printout of the application form submitted and fee receipt for future references.

The application fees are different for candidates from various categories as shown in the following figure.

MH CET Law Admit Card 2022

  • Candidates will be able to download the MH CET Law Hall Ticket 2022 by visiting the official website.
  • Intimations for downloading Hall Ticket will also be sent through E-mail/ SMS.
  • To download the admit card, candidates need to provide their registration number/ roll number and password/ date of birth.
  • After downloading the admit card, candidates will have to affix their recent recognizable photograph on the Hall Ticket, preferably the same provided during registration.
  • An admit card will carry important information related to the date, time and venue of the examination.
  • It is necessary for a candidate to carry his/ her hall ticket and one photo ID proof at the examination center. The acceptable photo ID proofs are PAN Card, Passport/ Permanent Driving License/Voters Card/ Bank Pass Book with photograph/ photo- identity proof issued by the gazetted officer on official letterhead along with the photograph/ identity card issued by the recognized College/ University/Aadhar Card with photograph/ E-Aadhar Card / Employee ID/ Bar Council Identity Card with a photograph.
  •  Please note that a Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License is not valid ID proof for the Examination.

The MH CET Law examination pattern is different for LLB and 5-year integrated LLB courses as given below.

For 3 years LLB Course

MH CET Law Syllabus 2022

The syllabus of MH CET Law 2022 examination is the same for both the course except for the Mathematics section. The questions from the Mathematics section will be asked only in 5 year integrated LLB course. The subject wise syllabus of the exam is given below.

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning: This subject will test candidate’s interest towards the study of Law, Legal aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be framed with the help of legal prepositions and a set of facts to which the said prepositions have to be applied. Some prepositions may not be true in the real sense. Candidates will have to assume truth of these prepositions and answer the questions drawing well supported conclusions.

General Knowledge with Current Affairs: The topics such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and the Current Affairs of the past one year.

Logical and Analytical Reasoning: The subject is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments.

English – Vocabulary, Proficiency, One-word Substitution, English Usage Errors, English Comprehension with minimum two passages followed by Five to Ten questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.

Mathematics – Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Average, Venn Diagram.

Result

  • Soon after the examination, authorities will publish the result in online mode.
  • The result will be declared in the form of a PDF file through the official website.
  • The PDF file will display the following information.
    • Registration number of the candidate
    • Roll number
    • Category
    • Gender
    • Candidate’s Name
    • Equated total score out of 150

MH CET Law 2022 Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

  • Those successful candidates who will score equal to more than MH CET Law Cut-off Marks 2022 will be allowed to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) or Counselling.
  • To take part in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), candidates will have to register themselves once again on the official portal.
  • The seat allotment will take place after the CAP registration.
  • Authorities will allot the seats on the basis of candidate’s preference and rank. If a candidate is satisfied with the seat allotment then he/ she may accept the same and pay the fee. Remember, doing so will make you ineligible for participation in the subsequent CAP rounds.
  • The admission is confirmed only after verification of documents (at ARC) and payment of seat acceptance fee through Candidate’s Login.

Answer: No, there is no provision for negative marking in MH CET Law 2022 exam.
