The Council of Architecture annually conducts National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for admission into the first year of 5-years B.Arch course provided by all the recognized institutions in the country. Candidates wishing to pursue a career in architecture should apply for NATA 2022 by filling the online application form. NATA score will only be valid for the duration of one year. The application form has been released on 8th April 2022. The exam will be conducted in the online mode where a computer system will be allotted to the candidates to mark the answer to the question displayed on the screen. Candidates will be given a total of 180 minutes to finish the exam.

NATA 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements as set by the Council to appear in the NATA 2022 exam. These requirements are-
Nationality: Indian nationals can apply for the exam.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board/university or should be appearing in class 12th. Those who have passed 3 years of diploma course are also eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates holding IB diploma can also apply.
Percentage required: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics as a compulsory subject in the class 12th or its equivalent.

NATA 2022 Application Form
Candidates can fill the application form for NATA 2022 via online mode only. The application form has been released on 8th April 2022. Before jumping straight to the application form, candidates should keep their documents, scanned photograph and signature handy. The application form will be divided into three sections namely- personals details, document uploading and fee payment. Candidates need to enter their particulars very carefully as once the form is submitted successfully, no further changes in the form will be allowed. Once the form is filled, they should review the complete form before making the final submission. Candidates need not send the hard copy of the filled-in form to the authority. However, they must submit the online form on or before the due date specified by the authority.

The application must be reviewed before final submission. Once application is submitted, an Application Number (8 digit) gets generated. It must be noted down along with password and security question-answer – as these are all important for subsequent logins – to upload images and submit fees. Please note that system will not allow to submit a duplicate form by any candidate – with same name, father name, mother name and date of birth. Candidates intending to make any correction in data filled-up by them in their respective application are allowed to do so through correction window to be made available only during the designated period. If the candidate furnishes false information his/ her candidature would be liable to be cancelled
and/or NATA- 2022 score would be treated void. |

Application fee: Candidates opting for one exam should pay Rs. 2000/- for the exam. Those from the SC/ST category must pay Rs. 1500/- towards the application fee.
Those are wishing to apply for both first and second test they should pay Rs.4000/-. SC/ST category candidates opting for both the test must pay Rs. 3000/-
Those are opting to take the test centres outside the territory of India should pay Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only) for any one test and Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand only) for both the tests through online mode.
Payment of the application fee can be made via credit card, debit card, net banking.
Upon submitting the application and paying the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated. Take a printout of your confirmation page for future reference however it’s not a valid document to take the exam.

NATA Exam Pattern 2022
The exam pattern for NATA 2022 is provided below-
- Exam mode: Online (CBT based)
- Medium: English only
- Duration: 180 minutes
- Type of questions: Multiple-Choice type (MCQ), Multiple Select type (MSQ), Preferential Choice type (PCQ) and Numerical Answer type (NAQ) and Match the following type (MFQ)
- Marking scheme: either 1 mark,2 marks or 3 marks
- Negative marking: No marks will be deducted for marking incorrect answer.
Candidates’ aptitude will be assessed through some or all of the following techniques:
- Diagrammatic Reasoning – Tests the ability of logical reasoning, using diagrams and scenarios
- Numerical Reasoning – Tests mathematical ability through simple problems
- Verbal Reasoning – Assesses the ability to assess verbal
- Inductive Reasoning – Tests the ability to see patterns and analyse given data
- Situational Judgment – Tests problem-solving
- Logical Reasoning – Tests ability to recognise patterns, sequences or relationships between shapes and imagery.

Questions could be asked in various topics that assess candidates on basic concepts in mathematics, physics and geometry, language and interpretation, elements and principles of design, aesthetic sensitivity, colour theory, lateral thinking and logical reasoning, visual perception and cognition, graphics and imagery, building anatomy and architectural vocabulary, basic techniques of building construction and knowledge of material, general knowledge and current affairs, etc. and are may not be limited to those outlined.
NATA 2022 Syllabus
The syllabus prescribed by the authority is given below. Candidates should strictly prepare for the exam according to the syllabus given.
- Mathematics: Algebra, logarithms, coordinate geometry3-dimensional co-ordinate geometry, theory of calculus, matrices, trigonometry, application of calculus, permutation and combination, statistics and probability etc.
- General Aptitude: Interpretation of pictorial compositions, analytical reasoning, mental ability, mathematical reasoning, general awareness of national/ international architects and famous architectural creations, sets and relations, etc
- Drawing Test: Understanding of scale and proportion of objects, aesthetics, color texture, harmony and contrast, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, drawing of patterns- both geometrical and abstract, etc

NATA 2022 Admit Card
For each Applicant, an Admit Card will be generated according to the schedule notified indicating the allotted Examination Centre for NATA 2022 and a downloadable version of the admit card will be published on the respective webpage of the candidate concerned. An Examination Roll Number will also be generated for each candidate.
Candidate has to download the soft copy of the Admit Card from the website and has to appear in the examination with a printed hard copy at the concerned Examination Centre indicated in the downloaded Admit Card along with one original photo identity card- Voter Card/ Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licence.
Candidates must ensure that the photograph and signature printed on the admit card are not mutilated / distorted / soiled even by accident. Candidates with such mutilated / distorted / soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in NATA 2022.
All Candidates are advised to retain their admit cards carefully in secured place in undamaged condition in all respects as stated above till the completion of admission procedure.
- To download the admit card of the NATA 2022 exam, candidates will have to visit the official website.
- They should take a printout copy of the admit card and keep it safe for future references.
- Candidates must carry the hall ticket to the exam venue along with a valid ID proof or else they won’t be permitted to appear in the exam.
- The details in the admit card should be checked thoroughly and in case of discrepancy, candidates must inform the officials immediately.
While coming to the exam centre, don’t forget to bring the following documents;
- NATA 2022 admit card
- Original Proof of Identity- Aadhar/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter
NATA 2022 Answer Key
Once the exam is over, the concerned authority will release answer key to questions asked in NATA 2022 at its official website. The Answer Key and the marks allotted for each question as fixed by the Council shall be treated as final.
One can view his answer script after the release of official answer key just by paying Rs. 3000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) for each test written. For the same, a candidate needs to fill up the online form and make payment withing 3 days of result publication. No request will be entertained once the deadline is over.
NATA 2022 Result
The result sheet / score card will display the following:

- Qualified/ Not Qualified
