The PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single girl child is provided in order to support post-graduate education of single child in PG courses only. Another aim of this scholarship is to recognize the value to the observance of small family norms. The age of the students applying for this scholarship should be less than 30 years. PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child are given below.

Age Limit

• The age of a student should be less than 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses.

Girl Child

• The student should be a girl without having any brother or the girl students who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughter may also apply for scholarship under the aforesaid scheme.

Note: In a family if there is a son and there is a daughter then the daughter will not be considered eligible.

Education Qualification

• The student must have taken admission in a regular, fulltime first year Master’s Degree course in any designated university or a post-graduate college.
• Please note that the admission PG Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.

How to Apply?

The application form for PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child will release in online mode through the official website of the UGC. All the candidates need to provide accurate details and upload the required documents in the application form.

Amount of Scholarship

• Scholarships of Rs. 3100/- per month for a period of two years only (10 months in the year) i.e. full duration of a PG course will be given.
• No additional amount will be given against hostel charges and medical charges etc.

Termination of the Scholarship

The scholarships can be terminated in the following situations.

• In case the awardees misconducts during the course and it is reported by the University/ College/ Institution.
• The scholarships can also be terminated in case of an unsatisfactory progress report i.e. in case a student scores less than 55% marks in the 1st year of Master’s programme (50% for physically challenged awardee)
• In case a candidate is found ineligible later.
