The Bihar Post Matric Scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Caste students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. Application form for the scholarship will be released through online mode. Interested candidates should fill and submit their application form on or before last prescribed date. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar and belong to SC category are eligible.
• Those who are pursuing any recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses from any recognized institutions can apply for this scholarship.
• Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible.
• All children of the same parents/guardians will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme.
• Scholarships will be paid to the students whose parents/guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

How to apply?

• Online application form for Post Matric Scholarship Bihar for SC Students will be made available on the official National Scholarship Portal.
• To fill the application form, the candidates will be required to provide their basic personal and educational details.
• Important documents should be uploaded in the application form in scanned format as well.
• Once all the details are entered successfully in the application form, it can be submitted online.

Important Documents

Scanned copies of following documents should be uploaded in the application form:

• Passport size photograph with signature of the student on it
• Copy of certificates, diploma, degree etc. in respect of all examinations passed
• A certificate (in original) of Caste duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar
• An income declaration by the self-employed parents/guardians, stating definite income from all sources by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper (employed parents are required to obtain income certificate from their employer and for any additional income from other sources, they would furnish declaration by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper)

Selection Procedure

All the eligible Scheduled Caste candidates will be given scholarships subject to the application of Means Test prescribed in this scheme.

Rate of scholarship

The value of scholarship includes the following for complete duration of the course:-

• Maintenance allowance
• Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
• Study tour charges
• Thesis typing/printing charges for Research Scholars
• Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses
• Book bank facility for specified courses and
• Additional allowance for students with disabilities, for the complete duration of the course
