To encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependents of Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles personnel, a scholarship scheme has been launched under the aegis of the National Defence Fund. Eligibility Criteria

Following criteria should be fulfilled by the candidates to avail Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles:

• Wards/ widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel who died in harness/ election duty
• Wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Govt. service
• Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel who have received Gallantry Awards
• Wards/ widows of retired & serving CAPFs & AR personnel below Officer Rank
• Should be pursuing professional degree program in the field of engineering, medicine, dental, veterinary, pharmacy, management, etc
• Should have scored minimum 60% marks in 10+2/ diploma/ graduation

How to apply?

• Application form for the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles 2024 can be obtained from the official website of NSP.
• In the application form, basic details of the candidates (personal and academic) will be asked.
• Scanned copies of important documents should also be uploaded into the application form.
• Once all the details are entered, the application form can be submitted online by the candidates.

Important Documents

Duly attested photocopies of the following documents should be uploaded by the candidates in the application form in scanned format:

• Service certificate to be issued by HOO for serving personnel
• Mark sheet of qualifying exam
• PPO/ Discharge certificate/ Book, if applicable
• Disability certificate, if applicable
• Death certificate for deceased personnel, if applicable
• Certificate of Gallantry Awards, if applicable

Selection Procedure

Selection of the candidates for granting the scholarship will be done on the basis of order of preference as given below:

• Wards/ widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel killed in action
• Wards of personnel disabled in action
• Wards/ widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel died for causes attributable to Govt. service
• Wards of personnel disabled for causes attributable to Govt. service
• Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards
• Wards of serving CAPFs & AR personnel

Rate of scholarship

The scholarship will be granted at the following rate:

• For girls: Rs. 3000/- per month
• For boys: Rs. 2500/- per month
