The Staff Selection Commission annually conducts a recruitment exam named Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam (SSC CHSL) for recruiting eligible candidates for the post of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator in various department of the government. Interested candidates must fill the application form in order to appear for the exam.

The exam will be held in three tiers namely- Tier-I (Computer Based Examination), Tier-II (Descriptive Paper) and Tier III (Skill Test/ Typing Test). Those who qualify Tier-I will be eligible to appear for Tier-II exam. There will also be a skill test conducted by the commission after Tier-II. Candidate should go through the eligibility criteria before heading to the application form. The duration of the exam will vary from Tier to Tier.

SSC CHSL 2022 Notification

The official notification for SSC CHSL 2022 has been released by the concerned official. It is being notified that SSC CHSL 2022 application form for Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator is available till 7th March 2022. SSC CHSL 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that must be met by the candidates for appearing in SSC CHSL 2022 is given below-

Nationality: A candidate must be either:

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, or
• a subject of Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limit: The age of the candidate should not be less than 18 years old and not exceed 27 years old as on 1^st January 2022. It means candidates born not  before02–01–1996 and not later than 01–01–2005 are eligible to apply. Permissible relaxation in upper age limit will be followed in the following ways:

Educational Qualification

For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): Students who have passed class 12th or its equivalent exam are eligible to apply.

For Data Entry Operator (DEO Grade ‘A’) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): Students who have passed class 12th in Science stream from a recognized board or its equivalent with Mathematics as a subject are eligible to apply.

SSC CHSL Application Form 2022

The application form for SSC CHSL 2022 exam can be filled online by visiting the official website of the SSC i.e. www.ssc.nic.in. Those appearing for the exam the first time need to register themselves for the same. However, candidates who previously have given the exam can apply using the same login credentials to fill the form. The form must be filled with an outmost care as no correction window will be provided once the form is submitted successfully. Candidates should keep their documents, scanned copy of signature and photograph ready when they fill the form. They must pay the necessary application fee specified by the commission to avoid rejection of the application form.

Important Instructions

• Please note one can submit application form SSC CHSL 2022 in online mode only through the official website of SSC i.e. https://ssc.nic.in.
• You’ll be asked to upload the required documents in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The photograph should not be take more than three month before the  date of publication of the SSC CHSL 2022 notice, and, the date on which the photograph has been taken should be
  clearly printed on the photograph.
• One needs to submit his/her application before the given deadline.
• Candidates should not wait till the last date to apply for SSC CHSL exam 2022. It will help them to avoid last time rush and possible technical failures.
• Before you submit your application form please check that all information are correct and in order. You won’t be allowed to make changes in the application once you submit the same.

Application fee: Candidates need to pay Rs. 100/ via – SBI E-Challan, BHIM UPI, credit card, debit card and net banking. Female candidates/SC/ST/PWD/Ex- Servicemen are exempted from paying the fee.

SSC CHSL 2022 Exam Pattern

Given below is the exam pattern for SSC CHSL-

SSC CHSL 2022 exam will be conducted in three tiers- Tier-I (Computer Based Examination), Tier-II (Descriptive Paper) and Tier III (Skill Test/ Typing Test).

• Exam mode: Online and Offline
• Duration: 1 hour for both Tier-I and Tier-II
• Medium: English and Hindi
• Type of questions: Objective and Subjective
• Marking scheme: In Tier-I, two (2) marks will be awarded for right answer.
• Negative marking: In Tier-I, one-fourth (1/4th) marks will be deducted for wrong answer.

Tier I Pattern

The pattern of Tier-I exam is-

Tie II Pattern

• Tier-II will be descriptive paper carrying 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode.
•  The duration of the Tier II will be 1 hour.
• One can write the paper in Hindi as well as English language.

Tier III Pattern

• The final round i.e. skill test will be held for the LDC/JSA/Postal assistants and sorting assistant post where the typing skills of the candidates would be tested. The skill test will be of 10 minutes.
• Skill Test/ Typing Test would be conducted on computer provided by the Commission or its authorized agency.
• Skill Test/ Typing Test will be held in the cities where Regional Offices of the Commission are located or the Commission will decide the same.
• It will be qualifying in nature.

The syllabus for SSC CHSL 2022 exam includes-

English Language: Cloze Passage, Grammar, Spelling, Fill in the Blanks, Comprehension passage, etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: Trigonometry, Statistics, Basic Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Tables, Graphs etc.

General Awareness: Environment and its surrounding, everyday science, General Science, Knowledge of India and its neighboring countries History, Culture, Geography and Scientific Research etc.

SSC CHSL 2022 Admit card

• Candidates can download their admit card for the exam through the regional website of the SSC.
• The admit card for Tier-I and Tier-II will be different.
• Candidates should keep the printout copy of the hall ticket and preserve it for future reference.
• It is mandatory for them to bring the admit card to the exam venue or else they won’t be allowed to take the exam.
• The admit card will typically be made available to download a week or two prior to the exam date.

SSC CHSL 2022 Result and Selection

• Candidates can check the result of SSC CHSL 2022 exam by visiting the official website of the same.
• The result will be declared tier-wise. Only those candidates can appear for Tier-II exam who have qualified the Tier-I exam.
• The final result will be based on the performance of the candidates in all Tiers and skill test.
• A merit list will be drawn by the authority for shortlisting the candidates.
• Selected candidates will undergo documents verification phase where their original documents will be thoroughly verified.
• A provisional allotment letter will also be sent to the candidates stating the date of reporting and other information pertaining to the recruitment.
