The West Bengal College Service Commission for 24th State Eligibility Test (SET) for the posts of Assistant Professor in West Bengal only. Those candidate who will clear this exam will become eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the state of West Bengal. Candidates will have to submit an online application form before the last date in order to apply. Before submitting the application form, candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully.  WB SET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Before filling the application form, candidates must make sure that they satisfy the following eligibility criteria.

  • Aspirants must possess a master’s degree or equivalent from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC.
  • Candidates from General/ EWS need to have at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree.
  • The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/ Scheduled Caste(SC) /Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PWD)/ Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree.
  • The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.

WB SET Application Form 2022

Candidates seeking admission to the Test (SET) must apply online only on the WBCSC website. Those eligible candidates who are looking to apply may check  the application process explained in the following steps.

  • First of all, you need to visit the official website of the board.
  • On the official website, you will have to register by entering a few of your basic details.
  • During registration, you will be asked to enter information like name, email address, phone number, etc.
  • Once registered, you may sign-in by entering your login credential generated during registration.
  • Now, the application form should display on your screen. On the main application form, you will have to provide your complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  • The details you are entering in the application form should be correct. Otherwise, authorities may reject the application form.
  • Along with the details, it is also necessary for you to upload scanned images of your passport size photograph and signature.
  • It is also necessary for you to pay the required application fee along with the application form.
  • Finally, take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future requirements.

Application Fee

The application fees are different for candidates from various categories.

  • General – Rs. 1200/-
  • Other backward classes (Non-creamy layer) – Rs. 600/-
  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ Transgender – Rs. 300/-

Mode of payment – The candidates can pay the examination fee either by credit card/ debit card/internet banking.

Admit Card

  • Candidates must note that the admit card will be uploaded on the website www.wbcsconline.in.
  • To download the admit card, candidates will have to provide their registration details.
  • The admit card will carry important information like date, time, and venue of the examination.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination without an admit card.
  • Along with the admit card, it is necessary for candidates to carry their one photo ID proof.

WB SET Answer Key 2022

  • Soon after the examination, authorities will upload the answer keys on the official website.
  • With the help of answer keys, candidates can match their answers with the correct ones.
  • Candidates will also get the facility to challenge an answer key with they are not satisfied with the same.
  • Please note that the feedback on answer keys will be accepted only through e-mail id which will be notified in due course.
  • The final answer keys will be released by the authority after considering all the challenges.

WB SET 2022 Result

  • The result of the examination will release online through the official website of the board.
  • To check the result, candidates need to provide their roll numbers and other registration details.
  • The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots) for Eligibility for Assistant Professor shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of SET.
  • To be considered for ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers (35% for candidates from reserved categories).
